About Konkuk University

Konkuk University (KU) in Seoul is one of South Korea’s leading private universities and ranked among the top 10 higher education institutions in the country. Konkuk University is located in the Kondae district in Gwangjin-gu and is conveniently accessible via the Konkuk University subway station. The campus provides sports and fitness facilities, including a gymnasium, basketball and tennis courts, soccer fields, and martial arts spaces. The campus also features the New Millennium Hall, a large performance venue that hosts concerts, cultural events, and student activities throughout the year. 

KU offers more than 500 courses in English every semester, taught by highly respected professors in their fields. Cultural activities such as K-pop dance classes, food workshops, and city tours help students experience Korean culture firsthand. Annual festivals, like the Ilgam Lake Festival in spring and the Fall Art Festival, bring concerts, cultural performances, and even K-pop stars to campus. 

A fun fact for K-pop fans: BTS member Jin, one of Korea’s most famous artists, is a proud graduate of Konkuk University. K-drama fans might also recognize the campus from “Chinese in a Trap,” which was filmed here. 

KU’s main campus in southeastern Seoul is surrounded by the campus’s iconic Ilgam Lake, which makes a great spot to gather after classes. In spring, you’ll find the entire campus covered in cherry blossoms. Seoul has an excellent metro system which makes it easy to get around, plus endless shopping, restaurants, street food, and vibrant student life. As a student here, you’ll get a perfect mix of academic life and city pulse!

At Konkuk University in Seoul, students can live on-campus in KU:L House, a modern dorm with separate halls for men and women. The dorm features air-conditioning, furniture, and high-speed internet. KU:L House offers study spaces, lounges, laundry, dining options, cafés, and shops, plus 24-hour security and social programs. Students can choose to add a meal plan, which is applied for after check-in.
