If you’re coming from outside the EU/EEA and planning to stay in the UK for more than six months, you’ll need to pay the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) when applying for your student visa.
If you’re a student from an EU/EEA country and have valid health insurance back home, you can use your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) while studying in the UK.
